why won't my brakes in front work properly even after changing calipers?
Did you crack the bleeder to find out if it is the line pressure or the caliper itself? I know that you said you changed the lines, but perhaps there is still some blockage elsewhere in the system causing the problem.
Again, are they reman calipers or were they new oem units?
I can't help with the ABS part number.

maybe the busted abs sensor plays a part ? the calipers were new units when I put them on, strange how both sides are acing up equally,
I don't see how but could changing the discs and pads resolve it? The brakes performed really good at the MOT and the pads are fairly thick although they are not new,
I tried the suggestion, the handbrake was applied but no one was stepping on the brake pedal, despite this brake fluid was seeping up into the tube when I loosened the bleeders, so somehow there were a bit of pressure in the system,
what could be the cause of this ?
thanks

I dont think youre understanding what BSHUSTED wants you to do.
Get the car off the ground.
Make sure the problem is occuring, or hit brakes accordingly until it is.
Try to spin both wheels to verify the brakes are locking/dragging.
Then release the bleeder.
If the brakes release with the bleeder, then its the hose.
If they are still locked, its most likely the caliper itself.
Now, I would make sure you cleaned and lubed the slider pins very well, and ALSO as no one mentiuoned thus far, The rattle clips that the brake pads slide back and forth on NEED to be cleaned on a wire wheel or with a good wire brush at least, and then lube them where the pads need to slide back and forth.
