Default Brakes not working properly

Hello everyone,

I have a 99 Audi A6 Quattro with 187k miles on it. The ABS light flashes off and on and the brake light is solid, only sometimes does this happen, not everyone when i turn the car on. Now it's been doing for about 5-6 months, but I've ignored it since I've already checked and it said it was the ABS module or sensor.

I have also noticed my brakes go to the floor somewhat, or it's hard to stop, I have to press the brake pedal rather hard. Is this a separate problem, or will repairing the module fix my brake problem as well?

Your ABS module should not interfere with brake power only features of it (like breaking multiple times per second when roads are slippery/icy). So you need to check into your brake issue ASAP before you head down the highway and can't brake in time!

First things I would check: Pads, brake fluid, brake lines.

Okay, I did the brake pads and rotors myself 10k miles ago. It was my first time doing them, when I did them myself I didn't put any anti squeal or lubricant on them. I was thinking maybe this was the problem, but I haven't changed my brake fluid since I bought the car and never checked my lines. So I shall do that ASAP. THanks!!
