Default 02 1.8t Quattro electrical issue

Hey all,
my wifes 2002 A4Q 1.8 has developed some electrical gremlin and I was wondering if any of you guys ever had this symptom..

Anyway it all started with a door ajar issue.. The lights sometime when you close the door would stay on, themn the door ajar beeper would keep going off. Basically the car's acting like it dosent know you closed the door. Now the Airbag light is on, the horn stopped working and the cruise control died all at the same time. And with the door issue, the driver door wont lock and the alarm wont set.

Any help would be appreciatd. I am mechanically inclined and im puilling the door panel tonight to see if the striker switch got messed up. Then ill run a vag test.

Thanks,
Shawn

I would imagine you have a bad door latch, there is a large number of electronics that gets inputs from each door latch, so that could be the source of all your problems. I would have the fault codes checked first though.

Hey all,
actually what happened is two wires in the door jam got pinched and broke. One controlled the input info from the lock module and the orther was power to the window module. Essentially it screwed with all the alarm and other systems in the car. I resoldered the wires and shrink wrapped them. Then went into each module and cleared the codes. Works like a champ now.
