I have a 2004 1.8 turbo cvt that I bought used on July 22. I love the car, except I think there might be something wrong with it.
Whenever I'm at a stop and i start to accelerate, the car takes off about 1-1.5 seconds after I hit the throttle. I thought this was turbo lag at first, but am starting to doubt that. Also if I mash it all the way down from a stop with pressing it through the "click", it will not spin its tires, but If i step on it right before the click it does spin the wires with ease. Another thing I've notice is that when I'm on any hill at a stop, large or small and I left off the brake, the car goes backwards for about 1-2 seconds the starts climbing the hill, really any hill size, without me giving it any throttle at all. I have not checked the air filter since I've gotten the car, I tried to once but nor me or the O'Reilley's guy could find my air intake filter. :/
All fluids were changed 2 weeks ago.
Is there something wrong?
Oh and in the morning when I start driving to school randomely it starts beeping and telling me the parking brake is on.

There's a slight delay in throttle on an electronic throttle pedal. Did you have the old cable type throttle pedal with your last car?

 

Nope this is my first car.
So the delay is normal?
My mom has an electronic throttle on her Benz and there is no lag though
