Question 1.8T Coolent Level Sensor - Wiring

Hi

So I did not close my coolent cap after checking the level. Luckly I drove only a short town trip at low RPM after feeling the need to recheck the level and to my shock it the tank was empty. I was forced out around the cap.

I waited till the next morning and refilled the tank (it took about 3.5L of coolent+water).

Did I do damage to my engine, the temp gauge did not rise above 90C during my 4-5km ride?

Next question, there is a sensor under the expansion tank and a CHECK button on my instrument cluster. One of the checks it runs is "coolent" and it passed. So I unplugged the wire below the expansion tank and pressed check again. Still all pass So what use is the sensor if its not working? Why is it not working and how can I fix it? (a fuse maybe)

I also have these 2 codes when I scan the car:
17700 - Map Controlled Engine Cooling Thermostat (F265): Open Circuit
P1292 - 004 - No Signal/Communication
17938 - Camshshaft Timing Adjustment: Short to Ground
P1530 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded
I found it strange because both that parts was replaced 10months ago at an enormous cost to my extended warranty policy.

I cannot believe that it broke again so I'm leaning towards electrical problem.

Any help or technical information on the wiring would be appreciated.
