G'Day. I have an A4, with a factory fitted tow bar, yet there is no plug for trailer lights? Now this doesn't seem like a German way of thinking to me. I was told when I brought the car that it didn't have lights, and would cost about 2K to install, as they need to be hooked into the computer to avoid a constant fault code. I'm just wondering if I am missing something here, like maybe there is provision for lights that i'm just not aware of?

 

I don't know why that would be true.. So long as you run then in parallel with the lights you already have it shouldn't be an issue..

 

look in the trunk under the side panels. That's where it would be. Otherwise I would think you can tap the current lights like any other installation of trailer lights. Might need to add some resisters to fool the computer.
