Right, I'm sure the answer lays in this forum somewhere but after over an hour browsing around looking at posts I'm beat and decided to create this thread so all help will be appreciated.

I recently bought an a4 last week. both front windows werent working and i got the regulators to replace as the cable has snapped in both. I fixed the drivers side today. But thats not the problem.

The problem lays with the switch im guessing.. the drivers window will go down no problem. auto down works fine. the problem is getting the window up. The window only goes up when it feels like it. sometimes it'll go up no problem. i could click it upwards ten times then all of a sudden it doesnt work. no noises or anything. The motor works freely with load and no load on it. When testing with no load i could click and it wouldnt work and sometimes it does. I'm sure someone will make sense of what i'm trying to explain.. ive taken the panel off quite a few times to wiggle wires etc. It was working fine for about 10 minutes till i decided to do what the manual said when it said to reprogram the auto up and down even though they were already working. i was just wanting to be sure that they were working alright. Then it stopped working again.. Like i said, window goes down no problem.. upwards only works when it wants to itself.

Any ideas at all? faulty switch? Am i missing something.. Thanks.
