6-Speed Shifting Issues
redline MT-90 tranny-gear lube is available at a few specialty shops, i get mine on-line search, amazon sometimes has it its a little more $$ but worth it. my first audi a 38,000 mile 2001 TT 225Q roadster 6 spd manual i bought last year shifted poorly when warmed up, a fluid change to Redline MT-90 cured it, either find a good independent shop or if you have some tools and a safe jack you can do it for a fraction of what the stealer will charge!! if you are a DIY guy a factory service manual is what you need, searching on-line will sometime get the required info as well. if everyone would SHOW their location suggested service centers would be given! i am close to harrisburg pa and an excellent independent service center APTuning in lebanon pa is near, they even do tranny work for the stealers! took my O2J 5 speed there for a rebuild at 150,000 miles, blew 5 th gear, i watched them tear down my tranny which i trucked down in 30 minutes, he showed me the semi toothless gear IMPRESSIVE! i am not familiar with your model but vw + audi are similar, as filters from my 01 jetta fit my 01 audi TT both 1.8T engines
I'm not sure what the problem was. I changed my driving style and it's actually helping. Never drive at or below 2000 rpm. If I keep it at 2300< and shift around 3000-3500, it's wont knock into 3rd. However, when I'm letting on and off the gas, i'll feel occasional grinding vibrations coming from the stick shifter (I don't rest my hand on it, I just check it sometimes), any thoughts? It's probably time for some MT90.
transmission fluids are not forever!! vw recently changed their "lifetime" recommendations on their 6 spd tiptronic, girlfriends jetta having issues at 55,000 changed fluid and filter its working well.manual transmission gears shear fluids and many years can deteriorate fluids, front drives are worse since transmission and differential share fluid, very little at that, so fluid changes though not on recommended maintainence are good prevention IMO

Yeah I got my apr flash from them, they also quoted me at 940 for clutch install and trans rebuild for synchros if I supplied the parts
Ok, so whats the deal on redline? Did some research and no one has an answer for the b6 3.0 6 SPEED. But in other models people say to avoid redline saying it will hard shift and cause it to miss synchos, Instead just stick with OEM.
I want better then OEM.
Still need to know how much to buy as well
