A4 B6 Saloon - Water leak in boot/trunk
Hi
My wife's A4 B6 (2003) has a bad water leak in the boot when it rains. It seems to be coming over the boot seal at the top centre near the bottom of the rear window.
I know that it could just need a new seal but something seems odd....
The seal has air holes every foot or so as it is one piece, but these holes are facing outwards i.e. when water comes down the rear window, it can enter the holes. I can see the seal and a couple of these holes when the boot lid is shut.
I have looked at my car (a Volvo C70) and its boot seal has the air holes facing inwards.
Is it possible that someone could have fitted the seal on the wrong way? Are the holes meant to face outwards or towards the boot space?
If it is on correctly then I'll just buy a new seal.
Any chance someone could look at theirs and see how theirs is fitted please?
Any advice would be welcomed.
Many thanks
