A4 not starting
I have a 3.0 A4 that does not always start in the morning. WHen turning the key it has power but does not crank. I have to leave the key in the on position for about 30 minutes for it to work. Almost as if it has to reset something. My local dealer suggested an ignition reader coil. Any ideas.
I don't kow what that is, if there's power but it cranks sometimes it could be the ignition relay or the starter. There was another thread where the guy just took his relay out and put it back in and it worked (that's rare), so I think the relay was loose on his case; the most common problem for this type of symptom is a bad starter solenoid.
Try to check the fuel pump... in the morning switch on the ignition, don't turn on the engine. You should be able to hear if the fuel pump starts.... the sound that the fuel pump makes when it starts its similar to the sound that the side mirrors do when you control them.
