Default Advice on turbos please

Hey guys I'm new to turbos and I am wondering what I can do to produce a louder turbo whistle and blow off noise. I've heard about doing a cone filter but I feel like the stock air box is well designed and no need to change that. So help me out pleaseeeeee thanks

the audi turbo system is not designed to "whistle" or "blow-off". just leave it alone

Swiss cheese your airbox or cone filter will make your turbo louder. And a better diverter valve will give more of a whoosh noise. Don't do a bov if your stock.

OK thanks you for the advice man, I appreciate it. Now I'm assuming what you mean by swiss cheese, is drill holes in my airbox. And I know enough not to put a blow off in place of a diverter valve. Haha

do a search for "swiss cheese mod" and you will see how different people have done it, but yeah, basically you drill holes in your air box. make sure you keep everything under the filter. there are few different things you can do to keep larger debris and water from getting in.

The turbo is well designed too. You can either vent to atmosphere..... "blow off" or "Re-circulate".

Blow off is counter performance..... the only purpose is to make a noise.

Audi has a factory re-circulation system / diverter valve

if u swiss cheese ur box make sure u remove all the sound deadening material from inside. And get a k&n high flow filter. U can also get a forge splitter where u can adjust how much is vented to atmosphere. . . .
