Air Bag light and dealer's diagnosis.
So I brought my Certified Pre-owned 2003 A4 3.0 to the dealer yesterday to figure out what is wrong with my air bag. (I'm still under the Audi extended certified warranty.)
Turns out, it's the wiring between the passenger side air bag (the side air bag, not the front.) And the control unit. Supposedly the certified pre-owned warranty covers the air bags themselves, but not the wiring. $380 to get it fixed.
Before I pull the trigger, is this something I can tackle myself? Can it possible be just some loose wires or a broken one? Where can I find schematics for this wiring?
Thanks!

Yep, that's what I thought too. I spoke with Audi of America and they said it should be covered. By the time I got back to the dealer, they had already done the work under warranty. Sweet!
Get this, I also am getting my power steering rack replaced under warranty. What a cost-saver that is!!!

I agree entirely. Getting my window control switches replaced on my driver's side door too. About $3000 total in repairs for $50. Gotta love it. (My fiance has a CPO Land Rover...thank god for that one!)
That's funny. I was trying to figure out a way to get my peeling switches replaced too. Luckily my driver's side window only started working with the one-touch in the up motion, so it was considered defective. No more peeling switches and covered under warranty...score!!!
