i agree 100%. ive got the silver stars as high beams also, and ive had them in my low beam before. for $20 dollars more though id definatly go straight to the HID for the low beam from VVME though.

i know this is an old thread but i was wondering what you guys think of HIDs in the factory halogen housing. i found some decently priced kits and will prolly go with the 4300k lights but i wanna know if there are pattern and beam issues with the halogen housing. i have a 2008 a4 so i know the housing is a lil diff. but i just wanna know if the light bounces all over the place and blinds other drivers or if they light up the road properly.

No issues as far as I know of. Pretty good color choice too. Nice to hear your staying away from the blue H.I.D.'s.
By the way, love your username.

haha thanks, im glad someone recognizes ATHF

so you dont have any issues with visibility at night? is the spread/pattern as good or better than the halogen? no excessive temps or melting/warping of the stock halogen housing? what kit did you install? did it have reflectors or anything around the bulb to help direct the beam?

just make sure to aim it a bit lower then your stock lights. OTher then that the aftermaket kits work well if u buy from a reputable brand! Either vvme or ddm are some of the more popular brands on audis beamers! here is 35 watt 8000k ddm slim ballast kit.
