of course you can go BT, i'm running a GTRS (yes it's one of the smaller BTs you can get, but it's still a BT) on a tiptronic. go over to audizine.com there are allot of people over their with the same setup. I kinda moved over to audizine about 6 months ago, allot more activity then audiforums and they seem to be more into modding.

GTRS is easier on the tiptronic then the K04 is due to the harsh tq spike form the K04, the GTRS is much smoother.
I wish i never wasted all the time and money with the damn K04, and you will to if you get one. do it right the first time and you will have less headaches, more money in your wallet, and a nice smile on your face every time you drive the car.

^+1. K04 ftl. GTRS have a less viscious tq spike. Plus a K04 won't do much more than a Stage 1+. Invest your money on something else rather than a K04 or get an elim. kit. Like widdget said a lot of guys on the Zine run it as a DD fine on a tip

Thumbs up

Hmm thanks alot for that info lol.. i really appreciate it from both of you cuz i would have gone k04..

So with all the info ive gathered from my fellow forum members i think im gunna see what i can do about the diode mod since i heard it costs about 25 bucks and im assuming i can "reverse" it or should i say have it stock when i do go bigger turbo in the near future hopefully.. now if you guys dont mind me asking i guess more so widgget lol..

Any idea how much loop you had to dish out to run the GTRS with appropriate accesories like chip, injectors, dv, etc... cuz after the next paycheck ill have 1200 or so in the bank so im figuring im almost halfway there? lol

i don't' have an exact figure but just over the last few days there has been a thread over on audizine by a guy asking about going BT on his tiptronic and some basic numbers were thrown around.

Check it out: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=229722

i spent a very long time shopping for a GTRS. you can find some awesome deals pop up once and awhile (i got mine brand new for $900 shipped and needed to replace the actuaitor for $90 since it was said to have been dropped onto a bench from a few feet) or if you want to just get one from a distributor send me a PM and i'll let you know where you can get it for $1399, which is going to be the lowest you will find it.

this is my rundown anyway:

GTRS Kit - $1000 (new from a audizine member)
550cc EFIs - $200 (used on audizine)
Revo Software - $700 local dealer
Highflow Cat - $300 tttuning.com
2.5" Downpipe - $300 tttuning.com
Thermal R&D Race Exhaust - $800 don't remember, wife got it for me
FMIC - $300 Ebay FMIC Kit & Misc parts to install it.
DV - $400 i have a hybrid D-Bov, you don't need a $400 one.
Nuspeed Turbo Intake Pipe - $300 i don't have this yet, but is highly recommended.

Over all with all the misc parts i would say into THIS setup i have about $3000-$3500 but it's hard to say for sure since i went APR stage 1+, then to APR stage 2 and a K04, then to Revo stage 3 and the GTRS. it sucked having to overwrite more then a grand in APR software because i couldn't find anyone interested in it with a B6 tiptronic that would swap ECUs.

Some people say the exhaust, downpipe, highflow cat isn't necessary but i have had two K04s die on this car and suspect (along with others) that the back pressure from the stock exhaust/cat put to much pressure on the turbos and killed them (no oil issues, car always cools after use, been over all the normal stuff). if you really wanted to try to save a little more you could properly skip the exhaust and just swap out the cat since i hear that is where most of the back pressure from the stock system comes from.

Let me know if you have any other questions and i'll do my best to help you out. the guys over on the zine know more then me though, i just pickup their knowledge

Dang youre really doing youre research over here lol.. thanks again man for all of that its a huge help to me.. you saved me from doing the same as you by going k04 and save me some major headaches!

But yea those prices dont look too bad to get all that put in considering everything id be doing.. ill have to keep ny eyes open while i save so i can begin to piece it together assuming i get lucky with some deals.. ill probably end up going full exhaust to really do it right the first time.. ill have to wait a little longer to put it all in but it should be worth it in the end..

Ill be sure to hit you up if i have anymore questions so thanks again man!

nothing for photos, as far as appearance goes it looks bone stock aside from the exhaust tips and FMIC piping.

I am going to get some videos up very soon, i'll be sure to post you some links here to look at.

and for the HP/TQ ##s, they really aren't that much of a concern to me, this is my daily driver and just want to it be a fun car to drive. so as long as i can look to my left when someone is trying to pass me, give them a little smile, and then see them in my rear view a second later flipping me the bird i'm happy as hell.
