would it be considered bad if i just changed the pads and not the rotors for my rear brakes. A mechanic was telling me that since the pads are glazed they will give me worse braking than i have now if i kept same rotors. It was a different mechanic than i usually go to, so i'm not sure if he is trying to get more money out of me.

I want to do it myself, but im a noob with little mechanical experience an wouldnt want to mess this one up.

well , if your rotors were in decent shape dont worry about it the mechanic probably just wanted to milk you for your moneyz.
