Default Catalytic Converter Removal

Hey guys, I am wanting to take out my catalytic converter and just straight pipe it. Before I do this I just wanted to get any suggestions or anything like that, that would give me some hints on this. My Audi has the 1.8T and dual exhaust. Thanks!

Well, I see your in the same state as I. However, where I am at I do not have emissions and decided to remove the Cat and put in a str8 TP. didn't notice much diff until I reset my chip. Now I notice more top end power. Low end, really don't notice a diff other than the sound of spool sounds louder. Another point is the smell. The days of backing into the garage are over. I have to pull in now so the exh smell stays out of the garage.

If you are in the Denver area, I would not do it. They still have emission in that area from what I am told. The fine could cost up to 2500 if found.

I would recommend a bigger turbo or intercooler rather than the test pipe. Just my 2 cents...

Ah ok that's good to know, I am mainly looking for the sound, which is my biggest thing right now . But I think I might just have to get an actual exhaust put in.
