I have a 2003 1.8T A4 that needs a new cat. I'm not very experienced with this type of thing so I need some advice. I have a mechanic friend who has offered to put one in for me...now I just need some info on the part.

Is it best to get a cat such as MagnaFlow direct fit such as:

Huge price discrepancy so I'm a little leery.

I've had techtonics stuff before, they're pretty good and stand behind their stuff. Just call them and ask them if is 50 state legal.
