I am noticing a clear fluid that is leaking from my car. I notice some wet spots on the driveway when I move my car in the morning. The leak seems to be on the drivers side between the motor and the coolant reservoir. It is toward the back of the engine about six inches from the fire wall. Could someone inform me what this leak could be? The fluid is clear and has a slippery, lubrication type of texture. I started noticing this leak about a week ago which is when the temperature around here started staying at around 20-25 degrees. Maybe a hose cracked? I would appreciate any input. Thanks!

 

clutch, brake, power steering??

 

We can rule out clutch, because I have an auto. I guess it could be either brake or power steering fluid. Do these fluids have any color to them? I know where the brake fluid resevoir is. Where is the power steering filler cap located at?

 

They are both clear. The power steering is just behind the drivers headlight. Green cap and the steering rack is a common problem.

 

either way, a clear oil leak isn't good. get it checked out asap
