Default Clicking on Warm Up in Cold Weather?

It has started to get cold here in Tennessee, and I am seeing something return from last winter. I have 2002 Audi A4 1.8t FWD CVT with 101000 miles. When it's cold and I start it, I hear a clicking sound for the first few minutes when it's warming up. It sounds like its coming from the exhaust system, but I can't tell which side. It's coming from underneath, perhaps near the catalytic converter. You can also hear it from the rear near the exhaust.

My guess is a heat shield is bumping up against something? What else could this be and how can I troubleshoot?

Maybe your heatshield, if u can, try to look underneath your car and touch all the pipes/shields.
