Default clutch bleeding

ok so i just finished replacing the slave cylinder in my 3.0Q 6 speed manual a4 and i tried to bleed the system with a gun type air puller, it sucked out fluid and air like it was suppose to, then i closed the bleeder valve and tried the clutch it came back with some resistance but still squishy, what did i do wrong? its not as solid as it use to be and still not right... could my master cylinder be on its way out too? or what?, i have no other leaks from where the pedal is or under the car so everything is tight.
