Default Cold Weather Over Texas = Frozen Emergency Brake

So, it's about 22 degrees down here in texas at the moment and it seems like my parking brake is frozen in place. The handle goes up and down fine but the calipers do not release the rotor when it is disengaged. Does this happen to you guys up north often? Any way to alleviate it ?

Take off the rear wheels, there is a little arm with a spring attached to the caliper. It will sometimes freeze or lock up on you in cold temperatures. I usually spray it with PB blaster and wack it with a hammer until it comes free, then drown it in WD-40.

Mine is definitely stuck at the caliper. I looked at the spring and arm mechanism with the brake engaged and not and it does release however the pad still appears to be right up next to the rotor.

mine did that while it sat for a few weeks while i collected the funds ($1726.23) for a turbo rebuild and timing chain gasket replacement. she didnt want to move when i had to get her down the driveway to the flatbed but i just put her at like 3200 rpm and let out the clutch quickly and she came free and havent had any problems since
