coolant/power steering fluid
Hello, I just got my first Audi, (2004 A4 1.8t) so I'm slightly clueless on some of the simple things, and I'm not much of a gear head, but anyway I know it calls for specific coolant, but is it ok to use the "any make and model" fluid? since supposedly it can be added to any type, or do I need to hunt down the "g12" fluid if that's what its called. On that same note I noticed my power steering fluid is quite low. Is there a certain type I need to use for that too?
Sorry if it's a dumb question I just want to make sure I use the right stuff

One caveat to watch out for on the coolant. If the current coolant is green in color, don't add G12 to it. Mixing regular old green coolant with the special Audi G12 coolant will turn your coolant into ugly brown/orange paste, which is not good.
So, just make sure that the current coolant is pink, and you'll be fine adding the G12 in.
