Default CVT Fluid Change

Hi. I have a 2002 Audi A4 1.8t FWD with the CVT Multitronic transmission. I had the transmission replaced (shocking, I know) at around 85,000 miles and I'm at 120,000 miles now. I feel the extremely early signs of the transmission going out again, so I want to take the preventative measure of changing the fluid and then make a decision about what to do.

I know there is a "normal" way to "flush" the fluid that requires the special hose tool. But from what I have read, that method actually only changes about 25-35% of the fluid. I want to change *all* of the fluid.

Does anyone know how to do this? I've looked around and haven't found much luck of people actually being able to remove all of the fluid and replace it with entirely new fluid.

There is also the question of the filter. Where is the filter located? There is a tube that comes out of the transmission, but I think that's just a cooler for the fluid. Obviously I want to change the filter too.

Part numbers, tools and procedures would be greatly appreciated!!

ecs occasionally shows the filter in stock on their web site. As for getting all of the fluid out I don't think it is going to happen but you can try. I know I'm not much help.

You can't flush it, you can only drain and fill the fluid, it actually gets about 70-80% of the fluid out. Audi calls to have it drained and filled every 40k. The filter is never usually replaced, its not inside the transmission like other automatics, its in one of the lines and it never needs replacement, unless there is a problem with it, i've never replaced one.

You do need to the special gravity fill tool and a vag com to get the fluid level correct, i recommend having a euro shop doing it, not the dealer.
