In the how-to he vents the lines from the crank case to the atmosphere. He places one line next to the tranny. The other one to the breather? Going by the diagrams.

I've been looking all over for a DIY for the catch can, but nothing good has come up...

What hoses to connect to them. I'll probably run it to the atmosphere just cause it's less work.

Would be very useful to know how to connect one so that when I'm ready with all the pieces.

all you really need to do is connect the pcv system coming out of the oil filter housing and the valve cover port to a vented catch can with a filter on top. pretty simple. however, in order to run a line from the pcv hole to the catch can, youd need an adapter like this, sold by 034. they offer a -10 one as well seen in the picture if you want to get fancy and use threaded stainless lines. youd need to pick one of these up either way since youll need to use it with a dump too

Hmm, ok...I don't need all that fancy stuff haha

Let's say I run the exact same setup as the one in the how-to.

Wouldn't I be able to just run that hose that's going under the tranny to the can instead of letting go to the atmosphere? Cause If I'd add that adapter, I'm now unsure where the hose goes...

ok ijust looked at the pictures a bit closer. seems b6's dont need the block breather adapter, which makes sense then. however, you do not need to tee it into the valve cover, although in the end it doesnt really matter. you can do it exactly as shown in the right write

Oh ok. Cause I'm not sure where things will go. I think I'll do the same setup from the how-to then figure it out after or I'll have it professionally done.

I asked my mechanic about the P0411 code and he told me that water collects in the secondary air pump (hair dryer) that's located behind the passenger side driving light, and causes the air flow to be disrupted. His suggestion was to drill a small hole in the bottom of the pump to let the water drain out. I didn't drill a hole, but when the CEL comes on and I get the P0411 code, I pop the little grill beside the driving light out, disconnect the hose and let the water out (beware of bloody knuckles) and put it back together. That took care of my problem every time. My problem now is that the clips on the hose have broken and it won't snap back in and stay there. I think I'm going to drill the hole and put a small fitting in it, connect a hose that comes down below the belly pan and put some type of petcock or clamp on it so I can just reach under and open it when the water needs to be drained from the pump and avoid the bloody knuckles.
