Replaced Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor(G62).
Oil and filter Changed.
Replaced spark plugs(needed) and found a puddle of oil in spark plug #3(misfiring #3 alright). Other plugs were ok.

Question:

Is this likely to be #3 spark plug seal, valve cover seal? Any chance this could be cylinder rings? 2003 A4 1.8T has 144k. Timing belt/water pump have been changed.

After replacements above A4 runs smoother yet not warming up as it used to be even after engine coolant temp sensor change. I read a post where someone was having engine hesitation and it ended up being the bleeder valve=PVC valve.

Update:

Normal Engine warm up is working again since this morning so I suspect the Engine Coolant Temp Sensor fixed that.

Still wonder if anyone here has ever have oil in #3 cylinder spark plug on an A4 1.8T.

I have oils in # 3 my car never warms up. And sometimes starts and stall replaced maf, coils, plugs still havin problem I can't find a answer to fix it gettin misfire codes and hisetation in fist and second gears

 

Valve cover gasket fixes that oil leak.

 

i had oil on all 4 spark plugs. Thats the valve cover gasket problem (also had that random/multiple misfire code). When u will do a gasket do not forget to change your PCV valve

the heat should start to work when u bleed the system and clear the codes.

 

Bleed witch system the heat system i had herd that sometimes u can grt fluid in the heater matrix, also ive never changed the temp sonsor coild it be that i already ordered the gasket to fix the leak
