Default Engine won't turn over on first crank

I have an 04 A4 1.8 Cab. For the last 10-14 days, when I try to start the car in the morning, the engine won't start up on the first attempt. The second attempt usually gets the car cranked and running. The problem doesn't occur again until the next morning (or usually on 10+ hrs rest).

I had a new alternator, timing belt, and brakes (not that that has anything to do with it) put in about 45 days ago... so it shouldn't be any of those.

Any ideas? I hope I don't have to drop big coin again...

Have you checked some of the basic stuff...Spark plugs, fuel filter (I would check this first) air filter, or it could possibly be a vacuum leak. Have you noticed any difference in the way the car performs since it started doing this?

I'm a complete noob when it comes to this type of stuff -- know nada about cars. I haven't notice any issues while driving... when in idle the car runs a little loud and vibrates some (not fulls shakes, but just vibrates more than a normal car should)... but maybe all of that is my imagination.

In the 9 months I have had the car, I have had to replace the alternator, brakes, and timing belt. I don't really know what the car ran like or how it performed when everything was fine.
