Default HELP!! mechanic screwed up my car

okay i posted earliar about replacing my coolant flange when my car overheated.

i did that. the car still overheated, i thought there might be air in the system but that was not the case.

i paid a mechanic to look at it and he said it is not the thermostat it is the radiator. when you run your finger along the radiator the top right is hot and as you go towards the left it gets cold.

the problem i am having now is the car is either a. misfiring , or having a really rough idle problem. the car had never overheated since i owned it. the mechanic put water instead of G12 into the car and i dont know if he may have broke the radiator by doing that. i am having the car towed somewhere because i am sick of all the bs. with the guy.

anyone have any suggestions, it sounds like the engine might need an ignition coil but the rpms are dropping which is unusual to me.

If the mechanic ran it up to check it over without you there how long did he run it for? Might have overheated it then without you knowing.

After I over heated a 1.8t (water pump failure) it needed a head gasket, misfire etc.

Water instead of G12 mix won't break the radiator.

well the check engline light came on. there was a vacuum leak making the engine sputter like that.

it turns out that it wasnt the radiator. that jackass mechanic was just a part changer and didnt really know what he was doing at all. i had it towed to a place i trusted and just bit the bullet.

the propeller on the water pump was broken. the car has almost 90k on it so i am gonna spend about 900 for a new timing belt and water pump. kinda sucks but in the long run its a lot better than buying a radiator when i dont need one.

thanks for trying to help. i appreciate it.
