Default Help...Replacing the Battery

I have a 2004 A4 and the battery is going bad, I called yesterday Audi and the replacement battery is $119.00 no big deal, but I was told the car needs to be reprogramed and that takes 2 hrs and extra $170.00 bringing the total just to replace the battery almost $300.00.

This can't be true, can I just purchase the battery and just install like any tother vehicle? Need advise please help....

I just put a new battery in mine two months ago and as far as I know you do not NEED to get anything reprogramed. You may notice your gas mileage dip for a couple fill ups and the engine might cut out power momentarily a few times. (this happened to mine while driving on the highway) However, after a few start ups and a couple days of normal driving the computer relearns everything on its own and everything should return to normal.

Your radio code should be with your owners manual in the stereo booklet.

You don't even need the OEM Battery. You can just head to your local Autozone or something and pick one up for cheaper. I've been running an Autozone battery for about year and half now with no probs. Also no programming or anything.
