How to Replace Secondary Air Pump
Hey everyone, new to the forums, I've done some searching but haven't found exactly the answers/info I'm looking for.
My girlfriend has a 2005 A4 Quattro 1.8T
The CEL recently came on and the Audi shop says it's because of a bad secondary air pump. They quoted $1400+ to replace it and the broken belly pan.
I'm sure I can replace the belly pan myself but am looking for some more info about replacing the secondary air pump. I am hoping to buy the part online and install it myself. Does anyone have experience replacing it? What kind of skill level is required (I'm handy but not a ton of experience with this sort of thing.) What tools do I need? Do I need to put the car up on a lift? (that could prove challenging) How long will it take? Are there any instructions available or is it simple enough to figure out on my own?
Thanks for any help!

sai the one of the passenger side if im thinking correctly. Shouldnt be very hard to replace on your own. Maybe two or three hoses and a couple of electrical connections also. I check tommarow to see if their is a diy somewhere. Im pretty sure there is though. as for the belly pan i havent had mine on my car since forever.
Hey its under the passenger side its kinda of a B.. so take out the head light it will give you more room to work with ... also if your spending money on a new one might as well change the main house coming from the engine on the top behind the engine i forget what that part is called but mine went bad and i just replaced everything took me an hr and 30 min
