i kinda hate my car!!!
First of all, DON'T HATE. Didn't your mamma tell you hate is a strong word??? I do agree with you on driving a manual day in, day out...I drove my 5-spd 5.0 mustang around for 8 years! You guys think that girly clutch in the Audi is a pain every once in a while...you should see my left calf muscle!
Anyways, I got myAudi specifically with anautomatic soI could finally just sit back and relax in comfort.
I still have the Mustang, so when I wanna pound the pavement, I take that one out and kill the imports that think they are fast here in Orlando!Don't hate you guys, I do love you.

bob nice info you explained it to a t with a dotted I as well lol... I will deffinately try that because you all know that I don't hate my car, it just pisses me off sometimes!! and im sure everyone of you on these forums can relate
ok so say there is something wrong with the car... what would it be? i either "whine" the clutch a little or i jerk it a little... in 1ts to 2nd, sometimes 2nd to 3rd?
I have been driving manual's for close to 20 years and never drive automatic's. It seems you just have not found your clutch's comfort zone. If you were driving a mustang it was probably close to the floor, on my Audi " which happens to be the same car as yours" I find it is a little more towards the upper middle of the clutch. So when I shift, I rarely have to apply much down pressure on the clutch and the gears go in smoothly with no jerking. Just find the correct position of your clutch and you should not have any problems. And before you know it, you'll love your car more and shift as if it was an automatic...........

If you got bumper to bumper traffic all the time, then I think driving a stick can become a real pita.

Yea i just bought my b5 about a week and a half ago. Its my first car nevermind ive never driven a manual before i got this. But i was lookn for an Audi and after hearing my brother say that he wishes his car was stick i went drove about 2hrs to get my car cause it was the only manual. It took me about a week to get shifting down. But i was horrible in 1st gear and was nervous to drive it. But i can drive it smooth now, and its alot more fun then any auto ive driven. But sometimes it is relaxing driving auto
