Default I think I just got hosed!!

I just returned from getting a brake job on all four corners of my 2004 A4 with a 3.0. The dealer hit me for $750, which covered rotors and pads. The puzzling part is I replaced rotors on the last brake change. The Service Manager tried to explain that pads and rotors are required to be replaced to maintain a "matched set" and thus makin the car stop better. This does not make sense to me because on my 1969 Z28, I can turn the rotors at least once. Do the rotors need to be replaced on every resurfacing? Please help. I recently moved and I'm attempting to find a reputable service shop.

yes audi does advice against resurfacing/reusing rotors with new pads, although in most cases they probably can be resurfaced and reused at least once...

You can do the brakes yourself, then you can see if you need rotors or not. The rotors should not be resurfaced.
