letter from audi about coilpacks?!?!?!
#12
Go AUDI.COM/COILS and see if your Audi is eligible. You probably have to wait for the letter, because they are not doing this at the same time, they are rolling it out. The letter says I will get another letter letting me know when I can get my coils checked and replaced. But I already bought new coils 3 weeks ago. I'm going to send in a claim for reimbursement. Audi states in the letter they will reimburse you, if you can provide the receipts/invoices and a copy of payment, like canceled check or bank statement. I guess they got enough complaints to finally do something!

I received the same letter for both my A6 and A4 3.0. The A4 goes in this afternoon since it has been throwing a misfire CEL since we bought it last August. I expect the coils to be replaced at no charge. They did state that I cannot get the old coils since they have to be returned to Audi. If anyone wants a scan of the letter, email me at jjaiven@chartermi.net

Timmay, I just purchased my A4 in September from a Nissan dealership and I received the letter last week from Nissan who forwarded it my way. Check with the dealer you bought it from and see if they received the letter.

Got the same letter about a month ago. I had a coil flake out about 3 months ago (P306 code...cylinder #6). Set me back $32 for a coil and $95 to put in from a local import place. Along with the letter you should have received a reimbursement form. I sent in copies of the receipts to Audi about 10 days ago, and we'll see what happens. Stopped by the Audi dealership last Friday, and they said owners will get another letter indicating they have enough DIC's in stock to replace the old ones. Service advisor said it may drag on to early next year, although he didn't know for sure. German engineering baby!
