I believe the switch for the moonroof (sunroof?) is bad and randomly opens the roof.

How do I replace the switch?

no need to replace the switch just rebend the metal tabs that are in the sunroof panel.

In my experience, that only works so many times before you either can't get the bends quite right anymore or you strip out the screws. When/if you get to that point, replacing the switch is pretty easy (there's a newer version of the part that's supposed to be better), and part numbers and pricing can be found here:
