Unhappy Multiple clunks and pops up front

SO a few months ago I had the mechanics replace my steering rack (even though i thought the clunk and grinding with the cv axles) and now a very noticable clunking/popping noise has started when turning below 20 mph and coming to a stop... it clunks the most when i come to a stop and i can feel it in the steering wheel. Before I also had solid steering and control but now it seems like when i'm going over rough roads it feels like my car wants to wander left and right... I've done searches on here but couldn't really find anyone with the same issues... I'm going to guess control arms though? I have the sport package also so I don't know if maybe something in the suspension or anything could of loosened up. I checked everything a couple weeks ago and it all seemed tight.... (that's what she said)

Anything input appreciated!

I think this is somewhat normal man and have the same sounds in my 03 a4 b6 when I park and straighten the wheel out. I think its the strut tower bushing at the top end popping. They get wore out pretty easily I believe. New struts and end bushings will solve this I believe, but i'm kinda just guessing.

Fuuuu... I checked the rack bolts when I checked everything else and I couldn't tighten them even a degree... I guess it's time for me to go through the front end replacement. I'm wondering if I should take it back to the mechanics and have them look first... it's just a pain cuz the place is about 40 minutes away (i live in temecula and they are in SD)

It was doing more of a "clu-clunk" deal today on my way home from work and definitely pulling when I would hit really rough pavement... Guess I'm just in denial about throwing the money down haha
