Default Need a brake job. Looking for input

I'm going to be doing brakes on my brother's 2005 B6 A4 1.8T Quattro

He's got 288mm fronts and 245 rears.

Would you guys have any advice on which rotors/pads to get and where from? It will be for daily use, no track time, just spirited every day driving.

Also, are there any special tools needed for this job? It is my first audi brake job. Other cars require stupid tools to twist and push in calipers etc. I'm just wondering if this one does as well.

I'm considering Zimmerman rotors and not quite sure on the pads. I've seen pics of pads with some wire + connector on it. Do I need pads with these and wtf are they for?

U need a piston tool to push the piston in. Or u can use a clamp deal but it takes longer but saves u cash.

the rear pistons need to be screwed in . rotors wise zimmermans are great. pads wise all depends on budget and driving the wires on the front pads is for the wear sensor so unless you want drive with the little light on saying that you need brakes id suggest you get the pads with the wire.

Thanks for the response guys. I don't visit this forum often. I thought I had the subscription set up but I guess it's not working for me.

I ended up getting zimmerman's front and back and PBR pads front and back.

I got the front's done without issue.

The rears:
I can't seem to get my allen socket onto the bottom screw holding the caliper to the hub. There isn't enough clearance. Any tricks?

I have to screw in the rear piston? Do I need a special tool or can I finagle it with stuff I have laying around the garage?

your can use needlenose pliers i did for a while or you can buy a $6 tool from wallmart or and autoparts store that you put on the ratchet. with the bottom screw try using a 6 inch extension it should give you a little more to play with ...dont strip them though make sure your socket is all the way in.
