Need some thoughts on purchase
Hi all - new member here.
Looking to purchase an Audi A4 for use as a spare car to take the load off of ours others and for use for a nanny to drive our kids to school. Came across a 2004 A4, 1.8 T quattro. It's an automatic with 94,000 miles. Guy is asking $4300.
What should I look for when I go and look at it in a couple of days? Service records? Timing belt? Anything else weird that an audi of this year with this amount of miles?
I'm coming from a lot of Jeeps and have learned a lot inside and out by going on their specific forums, so hoping the same here.
Thanks.
Cheers.

I don't know but I found VW/Audi to be a little high maintenance after 3 jettas a few beetles and now an a4 which has 80k on the odometer and all window regulators are out I have replaced the throttle body, fuel pump, front left axle and maf sensor.I'm only a month in
I bought a 2004 a4 1.8t automatic, and I'm in NJ, 5 years ago with about 100k miles for about $10k. (I have a 2000 a4, also). Sounds like you are handy from your Jeep days, and you will need to be with an audi. You must change the timing belt, unless you can absolutely confirm it has been done. This job is easy on a b6 for the handyman, and will cost $1,000 + at a dealer. on mine I've changed the timing belt, center differential prop seal, o2 sensors, coolant temp sensors, crank position sensor, cam position sensor, wiper transmission and motor, should have changed the steering rack, which was leaking, but just added stop leak, worked on the air pump injection system, and replaced headlight bulbs and tail light bulbs. Of course, I've done all the brake jobs myself. I have the VAGcom lite software and can read the codes, which always seem to point you in the correct direction. It has been a good car as a daily driver (for my daughter), but you need to work on them yourself or it gets very expensive.
