Hello, I am in the market for a B6 A4. I have been lookingatthe ultrasport package mainly, and wanted to know whether i should look for a 5-speed or a 6-speed. I wanted to know what the differnce is. Are there pros or cons to either? Does one have better performance? Thanks

 

On the USP's, (Ultrasports), the FWD cars were 5 Speed and the Quattro cars were 6 speed. you might think that the 6 speed gets better gas milage when infact the 5 speed does because of the FWD setup. Less tire to move with same power. it also gets better 0-60 times stock. but it really depends on what you want in the car

FWD cars get better mpg comparing to Quattro.
6speed>5speed if you are on a hwy.
5speed>6 speed on the streets (not that much though) due to higher ratio on 6 speed.
