Default Piece of metal scraping

Hi guys I searched but couldn't find any pics. I have a piece of metal hanging from the underside of my car. It is about a foot inside the right front wheel, about eight inches long, one inch wide, and not very thick, with a hole at the end. I was able to bend it up a little to stop it from scraping the pavement. I'm sure someone knows what this is. Is it important enough to take it to the shop and get fixed or just wait til I can jack the car up(which isn't very easy considering I live in Boston and don't have a driveway and the weather sucks right now). Thanks

Its a 2004 Audi A4 1.8TQM with sport suspension if that helps.

It is from a Belly Pan, actually if u see that metal thing hanging that means you Bell Pan cover is gone. Happened to me a couple of weeks ago after a lot of snow. It is ok to drive without one, but also dependeds where you drive.
It is like a 1 minute job to take that metal thing out, you will need to unscrew 2 screws.

It is just a cover underneath your car (clicky) to protect your oil filter and basically all that stuff under your car. Some cars dont even have them from the factory. If u drive somewhere with a lot of sand i'd say u better have one so nothing goes inside your car. New shields are about $100-$150.
