Please HELP! A4 won't start after short trips
Ok, here is my problem. I have a 2002 Audi A4 3.0 quattro. A couple of months ago the check engine light came on but the car seemed to function without a problem. Lately, the car seems to not want to start after being turned off for short period of time. For example if running to the bank, getting gas, grocery store, etc.. The car cranks but wont turn over. When this happens I have noticed that you have to leave the car alone and gently talk sweet things to it and after a few minutes it cranks up like nothing ever happened. This does not happen all the time but when it does it is very frustrating. I see myself as the guy in the horror movies trying to escape from the killer and the car wont start. If I was in a horror movie I would be getting killed, and that SUCKS!
Anyway, I am afraid of taking it to the Audi dealership because they are known to charge an arm and leg. I am partial to my arms and legs so I have not taken it in. I would really, really appreciate any insight in what could be wrong.
