Default Power Steering F*CKED

2003 1.8T Quattro Tiptronic. Great car, but there's always something going wrong with it. 103,xxx miles, just did timing belt repair, now the power steering isn't working. I'm using the correct fluid from the dealer. The tank has bubbles in it. I can fill it up to full amount on the dip stick and it still doesn't work. The power steering fluid does nothing but leak all over my drive way over the course of a few weeks. Does anyone know what may be going on? Is the fluid pump out? What would a repair like this cost to fix? I'm almost ready to trade this car in, but I like the hell out of it.

Thanks,

There's always something wrong with yours too?! My steering rack went out and caused a fluid leak. It's pretty common.

But, it could be a hose. Take the belly pan off and watch it while it's running. You should be able to find the leak.

Most likely is the steering rack problem. Look at the boots on both sides of the steering rack. If they are wet, you need to replace the rack.
