Default random overheating and ac failure

i just got a lil desperate and im new to audis id really appreciate you're help. i drive a 2005 a4 cabriolet convertible 1.8t. 2 days ago the ac started to blow hot air then rarely while driving kinda cold air that was 2 days ago. Now after doing the oil change which was due, the car started over heating occasionally on idle but not always. the fluid sign turns on and the temp gage goes all the way to hot but when i open the hood everything seems normal, so i turn the car off 1 minute turn it back on and the temperature is restored to normal and i can drive around. so i have no idea what the problem could be i think i read all the possible post and havent found something thank you for you're time.

First check if your small coolant fan is coming on when the temperature gauge climbs. If small coolant fan is coming on then next thing is check if any fault codes in ecm. If there's a fault code in ecm for coolant system then please post then could give you what to check.
