rear brakes bleed?????
gona change the rear pads and rotors this weekend just curious about whither or not its nessary to bleed the brakes afterwards???ive searched and cant get a clear answer.worried in case i have to use a vag com to bleed them?
any help greatly appreciated.

No you do not. No scanner needed for any of the job, the park brake is cable operated (electric does require a scan tool). In case you don't know, the pistons have to be turned while being pushed back in, requires a special tool. They will not just push back with a c-clamp. If you did know that already, never mind! 
It is a good idea, and is also scheduled maintenance, to change the brake fluid every two years to eliminate absorbed moisture and any foreign material. This greatly improves braking performance AND extends the life of the very expensive ABS hydraulic control unit for example.

Im about to do the same (all four brakes on my 02 A4) this weekend, thanks for the advice! I ordered a Schwalben brake piston tool from ECS to help with pushing the pistons back in. I do have a question about bleeding - can I just use a regular Napa-bought bleed kit or do I need something special?
