Default Registering used car with Audi

Greetings Audi-philes! I'm enjoying my new used '02 A4 and it's running great! The car is beyond the new vehicle warranty and has had two other owners, but does anyone know how to register with Audi so that repair bulletins and recall notices get sent to me? Do they comb state vehicle registration records and identify all Audi owners.

Thanks!

Hi--Thanks for the info. I never got a formal answer to my original question, but ilackav8's reply seems to be true. The previous owner of my car (who purchased used from a lease company) said he got a recall notice for the coil replacement without any registering on his part. I'm hoping that's still the case with VIN's and Audi tracking ownership on their own through that way. I was just wondering if there's a formal process where I can confirm that Audi knows I'm the current owner of this great car.

you could call up your local dealer and see if they know/can check in a computer for you.

it just occurred to be that maybe they update their records when you come in for a repair and notice that youre not the same owner that that vehicle was last registered to and update it then. give em a call and see what they say

In my service manual there was a little form that I filled out with my VIN and home address, like a postcard..

I never registered. They track it through the registration of your car with all states. I only had my Colorado plates for a few weeks and I got a thank you for purchasing letter. It was in September on an 02 a4....
