Trying to remove the chrome piece around my shifter ****, but I can't pull off the **** or find the tabs to release the bezel even if I got the **** off. I tried following a guide for an allroad, but it isn't working for me. Is there some kind of secret I don't know about? When I pull out the button and wedge something between it (while my car is in S), I pull up with a lot of force and nothing happens what so ever. The tabs are either something completely different on the A4 compared to the allroad, or I don't know what I am missing?! What is the trick to this, anyone done it on their b6 A4 Automatic? Here is the guide I used below, maybe the last time I had my car worked on, someone messed something up and now it is stuck? Any advice is helpful, thanks!

i remeber something about to get the **** off u have to hold the button with a paper clip and pull really hard. There was some special procedure for it. Ill have to see if i can dig it up.
