I recently brought my 2004 A4 in for an oil change and the maintenance reminder didn't reset. How do I manually reset this to show I don't need an oil change for another 3k miles? I lost the manual, otherwise I'm sure these instructions would be in there. Thanks in advance!

 

1. Place key in the ignition (leave it in the 'OFF' position),
2. Hold down the 'WRENCH' button directly above steering wheel column,
3. While holding the 'WRENCH' button, turn key into the 'ON' position (do not start the engine),
4. Let go of the 'WRENCH' button, and quickly press the '0' button.

That will reset the service reminder to the standard 5k interval.

 

thanks for the help. i was able to do this and now the service reminder just has dashes as opposed to the 5k interval. will this automatically re-set back to 5k?

 

after you drive about ~200 miles or even less, it will automatcially reset to 5000k and some ridiculous amount of days.

Some cars are set to 10k intvervals though

 

the interval can be changed wtih vag-com.
