Default Spark Plug SNAFU... HELP

Hey guys,

I tried doing a search on my problem and found a lot of similar problems but i wanted to try to state my case. Im not a car genius and usually end up asking my friends for advice, but since i bought an Audi, they seem to be stumped.

I have a 2005 A4 quarto 1.8t. Some guys i work with were telling me i should change the plugs out in it since i've never done it and it has 96k on it. I took their advice since it is an auto parts store and thats when the pain in the *** began.

After i swapped the plugs out and turned it on, it started bucking a lot, the check engine light came on, and it popped a P0302 code that came up as the coil in cylinder 2.

I grabbed an OE coil and switched it out with no help, tried putting a new plug in, no luck. Then i tried switching the 2nd and 3rd to see if the code would change... that didn't work. it ended up popping 5 codes after i did that. it came up with P0300 twice, P0302 twice and P0301.

I was given the advice to go to the dealer to get factory plugs, so i tried that today, switched them out in the parking lot and it worked great, i was thrilled. On my way home from work tonight after about 30 miles of driving, i got off the highway and it misfired again in 2nd gear and then randomly the rest of the way home. Its not as bad as it was, but this is going to drive me insane

Any help or ideas you guys could give me would be much appreciated, i don't want to have to end up bringing it to the dealer and paying way too much money.

Thanks,
Mike

Probably wrong gap. Gap should be .028.

Pull 'em check gap go from there.

I would also take a look at the electrical connections under the rubber grommet to the connectors that make contact with the coils. Maybe you have corrosion or a break in a wire.

Audi plugs from the dealer are pre- gapped.

I would try swapping the coils. also make sure the 10mm bolt for the ground next to number two coil is tight
