Unless the car is tracked often a stock heat shield will do fine. Or of course you can always custom make your own HS or copy that guy's

with a cone, a complete heatshield will help a lot, that stock heat shield is quite small... i tried to get someone with stock airbox to vag their IATs before and after adding that guys $100 heatshield but no one would ever do it.. but people are still plunking down $100 for something without proof it lowers their IATs

I have 2 HS's side by side. After a long drive the filter might get a tad bit warm but not hot. It does the job for now considering I don't even have an engine cover but I will do a full HS when I got the time. I'm sure it helps with the IAT's but I'm not willing to fork over a bill for something I can easily do with $30 or less.

my apr exhaust was a waste of money? umm, i guess. It seems to do the trick.. I didn't know you could custome make a down pipe.. Well, it sounds good and it's not loud. I might just try dropping a cone for my intake upgrade. I see alot of cheap intercoolers on Ebay, but I hope they fit! I think the intercooler is a must because my first gear stinks from time to time.. It's been sucking again lately. I just don't get it and it makes me worry. I step on the pedal, it accelerates and the engine revs up, I just don't feel that boost kick in.. I don't, know.. ANy one know how to mod the car so that the clutch doesn't grab on so HIGH..?? Would changing the clutch itself fix that or is it something else? If anyone's driven an 04 jetta gli 1.8t 6spd, (I use to have this) I loved how the clutch engaged really quickly and low.. the audi's is fine, but...just a bit too high.

An ATP DP is about $160 and if you get a good deal @ an exhaust place its $400 stainless steel. That places you under $600 and it sounds as good and same quality as name brand exhaust. But to each his own. You could also fabricate your own DP or straight pipe that b***h. An ebay FMIC won't be a direct fit. You have to custom brace it and trim the bumper as needed. The tranny and gear ratios on the FWD jetta and the audi is way different.

APR exhaust is fine... but unless u are good at aluminum welding, buy a preman racetec designed for your car
