Steering Column Circuit Board
My brother's 2003 A4 1.8t Quattro would not cracnk over and had the starter replaced. Now it will crank but will not start. The mechanic tells me the immobolizer is okay as there are no codes and no dash warning ligts.
The mechanic's online resource to other shops tells him it needs a new "circuit board" in the steering column. The only thing I can find online is this:
which shows how to remove the column with a pic of a circuit board.
Does anyone have more insight on this?
Thank you,
John

Well, I am not a great specialist in the technical part. However my dad has actually faced the same issue, and the car he has had this issue on, was also A4 1.8t Quattro, don't really remember the year. Is it kind of a problem related to this model? I do not really remember how he has fixed it. However I know that he actually replaced the circuit board. My dad actually tried to do it by himself, however it did not work out. He had to call for a specialist in the circuit card assembly service. It actually solved the issue.

I've just bought myself the Thrustmaster F1 wheel and want to start on modding the rotary encoders on there etc... Question I've got though is what PCBs are out there that people use? I know a lot of people end up going to the SLI-F1 route, but I'll mainly be playing VR so the displays don't really seem worth it. If I did play without VR, I'd be looking toward a more modern screen anyway.
