my car shakes when i have it in drive but my foot is on the brake, the moment i take my foot off the brakes the shaking goes away. It will only do it in drive, not nuetral or park. I heard something about how the 4 cylinder engine is set up and the angles of the pistons but i really am looking for more of a way to stop it because its really annoying. Has anyone else had this problem??

is it a vibration from the engine or brake pedal? also, is it only when its moving and you brake, or stationary like when you just shift into D?

if its when youre moving, and from the pedal-likely warped rotors.

if its when youre stationary and from the engine it could be the secondary air injection pump.that bad boy kicks in pretty hard sometimes.

just what i could think of off the top of my head

something in the ABS module pulsing your brakes while you are sitting still? does it do it when holding in reverse? since you say it is only when your foot is on brake I'm guessing it is something with the brakes.

it doesnt sound like it shaking from the engine but more like another part of the car, it might be the brakes since im letting off the brakes. How would i know if the rotors are warped? its weird because it wont happen all the time just after i drive a good amount of time, i also live in the phoenix area which is hot and we do alot of driving out here and i noticed it after a long night of random drivings around town, prob a good 100 miles worth of driving. you think it might be the rotors are getting hot and thats causing it

You didn't mention the mileage on the car but it could be a worn snub, engine, or tranny mount. Once it's in gear the whole drivetrain is engaged and could create the vibration if there's a weak mount somewhere.
