Tuned exhaust systems are the way to go imo. They are manufactured to bolt perfectly and sound good as well. I paid the $1000 tag for the APR exhaust blah blah blah, and I wouldnt have done it any differently.

Yeah but they don't make one for the 3.0L, so he has to go the custom route. The only kit i know of is the Remus system, which still uses the stock resonators, so it sounds just as quiet as the stock exhaust. The 3.0L engine has 4 hydraulic cam pulleys which chatter and drown out the sound of the exhaust, further making it sound putrid, which is why it needs a little bit of growl to even it out. Folks with 1.8T's and 2.0T's, i love ya, but you don't know what you're talking about here.

P.S. Lets get one thing straight, i agree that a full exhaust sounds better, thats why i have a $900 neuspeed system on my car. I also hate the 3.0L engine with a passion, im just trying to help the people that actually own them to enjoy what they have.

I, for one, like the sound of my stock A4 3.0l. It is quiet and refined like a sports touring car should be. However, I'm pretty sure the resonators were removed from my A6 by the original owner and it is still a quiet car even under full throttle.
